Since ANY connection through the internet MUST go through your ISP, they have records of every transaction, and are legally bound to keep such records for 7 years minimum.
your isp will know about anything you do online, even if you use a proxy. a proxy just forwards the data through another server which bounces the data back to you, but it still has to go through your isp
