@Jingogunner heh, yeah newzbin even has a tor link incase of domain seizure
Ma man! Nope, I am not a Fed. I am a fed the fuck up with state interference and state brutality by our so-called democracies in the UK (where I live ) and the US. Thanks for the link, I will try it and let you know what happens. I had a good laugh when the senile British judge ordered BT, the ISP for newzbin to block them. The guys at newzbin easily knocked their block off – the truth is that it is not possible for any organisation to block sites.
@ubermisogynist Interesting. I might have to check it out one of these days. It may come in useful in the not too distant future. Especially if things are about to play out like I think they are.
@applegekko good luck with that..most ISPs dumped Usenet years ago and when they did they did carry usenet retention and completion was horrible and they monitored downloads
@Jingogunner they have free nzb indexs..die hard 4 is on there..are you a fed?
@dodo3773 it’s worth it. You can buy block accounts(like $11 for 50GB of download) it never expires and it’s non-renewing and most good Usenet have like 2 1/2 – 3 year retention(you can can get stuff that posted years ago).
jesus, I am a computer klutz. I joined premium account on Newzbin cause its only £4.10 for 80days but I got no idea what to do, I want to download diehard 4 but can’t find anyone to give me a step by step how to, click by click, for example, you talk about a client. what the hell is a client, please? No idea what a torrent file is. until yesterday when I joined newsbin, had never heard of usenet. help!
@bamdadkhan actually riaa knows about it, they are in court with some of them already =) , i doubt is gonna be wide speard cuz u gotta pay to use it, and the alternatives are free
@gotbletu yea you’re right, but it’s usually best left in the dark, because you can find almost anything on usenet, and it’s usually left alone by the copyright, rating and software gestapo. if it gets more attention and becomes a more widespread thing, they might fuck it up.
@guruchomp2 Thanks, havent heard of that b4, looks good, ill check it out
@neb967 lols now u no
@gotbletu im saying it fast and feeling like an idiot right now… still dont get it, sounds a bit like god bless you
if you’re using KDE a good alternative to LottaNZB is Kwooty. if you haven’t you should check it out.
@dodo3773 not really, is more like a global account that works on all file hosting sites
Is usenet like xdcc except you have to pay for it?
@enix2k6 no1 told me the rules, and i usually break them anyways lols. I dont like paying, just gonna use the trial version when i need to use newzbin, no sense in paying for something to download free shits
@blackoutworm yea those are torrents, these are newzbin, different animal
@gotbletu First rule of Usenet, Dont talk about Usenet… =)
Giganews is expensive, check out Astraweb they have 1050+ retention and the have a deal off a Usenet review site where you can sign up for it for $10 a month. 256bit encryption is worth $10 a month.
Great piece of software, but I would rather go for the free sites out there (thepiratebay, kickasstorrents, btmon and so on).
@gotbletu lucky you i live in the uk and i only get tops 4 mb but next year hopefully ill be getiin fibre optic which will be 40 mbs thats if they dont delay the schedule like they did last time
@neb967 say it fast a few times and u might get it =)
@ADIMM0 speed test says 18mbps
@applegekko those are rare nowadays
@evilhugbear cost too much then lols, thats like double paying for account then for searching
