if it’s a fake credit card, it wont work as they do an authorization to verify both the card and the age.

Following a discussion on the Usenet group it.arti.fotografia.digitale about the use of fake stars in photos, I made this image.
This is how I make it:
- I took a not particularly interesting photo of a sunrise in Cervo (Imperia, Liguria – Italy) I shot last summer – the photo is made looking East
- from kstars, the free astronomy program available by default in Linux, I took a 2560 × 960 screenshot, looking North, showing just stars with a magniture 3 or less (the lesser the bigger: magnitude is inverse)
- with the Gimp filter "Sample Colorizing" (see this tutorial) I give stars a natural color, because Kstars has its own "symbolic" colors to indicate the stars temperature
- the stars can’t be static, so I duplicate the stars layer and added to it a motion blur filter, 3 pixels long, and some light gaussian blur
- over the panorama I placed the two stars layers in screen mode, resized to have the same width of the photo
The result is terrific, but it’s a fake: the Northern Star became a Eastern Star…
BTW, it took me more time to write this text than to make the fake photo.

Seguendo una discussione sul gruppo Usenet it.arti.fotografia.digitale a proposito dell’uso di stelle fasulle nelle foto, ho realizzato quest’immagine.
Ecco come ho fatto:
- ho preso una foto non particolarmente interessante scattata all’alba a Cervo (IM) la scorsa estate – la foto è fatta guardando a est.
- da kstars il programma gratis di astronomia disponibile di serie su Linux, ho preso una schermata da 2560 × 960 pixel, guardando a nord, visualizzando solo stelle con magnitudine 3 o inferiore (la magnitudine è inversa: stelle con magnitudine bassa sono più luminose)
- con il fitro Gimp "Colorazione a campione" (vedere questo tutorial) ho dato alle stelle un colore più naturale, perché Kstars ha i suoi colori "simbolici" per indicare la temperatura delle stelle
- le stelle non possono essere statiche, così ho duplicato il livello delle stelle ed aggiunto un po’ di sfocatura movimento, lunga 3 pixel, e un po’ di sfocatura gaussiana
- sopra il panorama ho piazzato i due livelli di stelle, in modo scherma, ridimensionati alle stesse dimensioni della foto
Il risultato è sorprendente, ma è fasullo: la Stella Polare è diventata la Stella Popolare…
A proposito, mi è occorso più tempo per scrivere questo testo che per fare la foto tarocca.
Ora sono curioso di vedere quanta gente posterà un commento elogiativo senza leggere questa descrizione
