You could do……
Put adds in the news paper

Make filers and put some in local stores (Like Walmart etc.)

Make filers and go around your neighborhood and hand them out

Also you could have your parents see if they have anyone at their work that needs a baby
sitter.

What are some good ideas (even crazy ones) for advertising?

Question by nagwin: What are some good ideas (even crazy ones) for advertising?
I opened a restaurant a few weeks ago. We serve steaks, burgers, salad, seafood, soup & etc. We’ve already put ads in local news papers, and business is steady. We’ve considered radio/tv ads. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Hire a guy to dress as a chicken to dance outside the restaurant.

What are some good examples of the blurring line between journalism and advertising?

Question by Alex Rogers: What are some good examples of the blurring line between journalism and advertising?
An example would be a news show producing a paid advertisement that looks and feels like an editorial.

Best answer:

Answer by lmmvirago
Another would be advertisements in paper magazines that are written to look like articles. These often appear in computer magazines (PC Mag, PC Gamer, etc) and have the word ‘advertisement’ in tiny print.

What are some good medical professional forums that do no require proof of licensure for registration?

Question by William: What are some good medical professional forums that do no require proof of licensure for registration?
I earned an M.D. and residency certificate before studying for the doctorate I using in my current career and so never went through the final steps leading up the receiving a medical license. However, I have been regretting going into mathematical and theoretical physics over medical science and am now putting great consideration into biophysics research, and possibly even clinical practice, but do not have a community of professional to acquaint myself with in order to formulate a better idea of the form of my future plans.

So . . . . to make a long story short, I was wondering if members could provide me with some decent World Wide Web, Usenet, or any other type of internet protocol-ed forums for someone in my situation.

Thank you.
Are there any forums in the league of Sermo.com that do not require licensure?

Best answer:

Answer by Alexandra
www.StudentDoctor.net is a great forum that is primarily led by medical students and people in similar fields. I just recently became acquainted with the site (I’m a 2nd-year med student), but it seems like an excellent, albeit casual, resource for someone in your shoes. I’ve been using it to flesh out my own plans for the near (and far) future. Good luck!

When I watch the news, why does bad news seem to sell more than good news?

Question by caltam84: When I watch the news, why does bad news seem to sell more than good news?
When I watch the news, there is more bad news than good news. I would love more good news than bad news. Unfortunately, this won’t likely happen. Of course, no one likes to deal with the bad news.

But why does bad news seem more advertising and sell more? I really don’t get this.

Best answer:

Answer by Simon
Because most good news poses no problems. People don’t really care to hear a story on the thousands that graduated high school/college this past year. Or of the thousands that left the hospital with a clean bill of health. Or that one person, who was struggling on house payments now all of a sudden can make it.

In those — there are no problems. Nothing to be solved/resolved. You mention something about Iran building weapons — people can start forming opinions. You talk about politics, and people can try to figure it all out. News acts more like a puzzle. It informs you, and then you get to play with it.

You start trying to deal out “good” news — people will lose interest. There is very little thought provoking aspects to good news. It is also relevant to the situation. China agreeing to sanctions on North Korea is “good” news — but most won’t see it like that.

If you want “good news” — you can always read the Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I’m told they’re supposed to be uplifting.
