The sign behind me follows the typical ad campaigns of news and news websites. The "brought to you" sponsorship model seems like it would work, IMO.

You don’t see much of it, though, which I guess is a result of Island traffic not being like web site traffic. If a "site" in Second Life was a favorite among visitors, I could see a sponsorship model like this working well.
