Where have you been news has been infotainment for decades it started after major companies realized that hard news usually effects their bottom line negatively. They bought up interest where they could and where they couldn’t they bully with advertising dollars. This has turned news into prepackaged dreck most people ignore.

Just like all the other questions concerning Fox News you give no examples on why they are not fair and balanced.

CNN still uses “The most trusted name in news” when they are blatantly not!

Give it up. You are way out numbered and WRONG!

Why does FOX News advertise their Prime Time as Fair & Balanced when their hosts are sympathetic to the right?

Question by Technicolor Universe: Why does FOX News advertise their Prime Time as Fair & Balanced when their hosts are sympathetic to the right?

Some have said that FOX is fair and balanced because it brings both sides and is not biased like the main stream media “NBC, ABC and CBS.” But I’ve got to say, the line up includes Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity the Republican, Glenn Beck with tea party rallies and O’Riley with strong views towards to the right. I can only think of Greta who seems more moderate. But still, the line-up does not seem fair and balanced.

Why do local television networks spend so much time each day advertising their news shows.?

Question by hazzard: Why do local television networks spend so much time each day advertising their news shows.?
They could use that time to report more news throughout the day. I think it is because they are more concerned about commercial revenue than keeping the pubic as informed as possible. What do you think.

A lot of them will do that to create a buzz and hopefully attract some people to watch their show. Sometimes, they even have a small ‘news break’ where they will only give you the main headline of the story, but not anything else about it so you have to come back and watch if you want to know what it is about (such as what normal household chemical could be compromising your health? Find out with news at 10).
Just like everything else in the world it has become extremely commercialized.

Some ISPs have stopped offereing usenet access. But usenet is not controlled by the ISP. They can or cannot offer a connection to it and space for you to add to it. I know many people that use it a lot. so it is still a selling pont for many people. These also tend to be heavy users.
