What do you think of using PR Web to give exposure to a new online baby boutique?

Question by stellabellababy: What do you think of using PR Web to give exposure to a new online baby boutique?
I have been told that Network Solutions and some PR agents use PR web as a way to introduce/advertise new online businesses. I have a baby boutique, and I was wondering if this would be an effective way to increase my Search Engine ranking and draw more attention to my site. I do not have alot of money to spend on advertising, and I am told that you get alot of “bang for your buck”. They offer 3 different packages, one for $ 80, which is basic, one for $ 120, which gets you more, but I am not sure if it is worth it, and then finally one for $ 200, that is supposed to be the ultimate. You can also pay an extra $ 10 to have your press release moved to the top of the page when it is published, so people see yours first. What do you think? I am looking for ways to get more exposure to my site? Supposedly PR Web is the best there is?

PR Web is ok. but i don’t think that it suites your business. You can do it by yourself, start sending personal e-mails to people. Use the chatroom. Make a “Noise” about your business. the roll of the word of mouth is far better than advertising.

Then, maybe you can go on PUBLICATION INSERTS, it is cheaper. Or instead, insert your flyers and/or leaflets on the credit card bills of your target market (target customers), say the young professional mothers about 25-35 years of age.

The PRESS RELEASE is the best way to promote your boutique, just make sure that you are sending a NEWSWORTHY release so that the media will be interested on your story.

hope it will help you. i am an advertising and public relations student here in the philippines

Where have you been news has been infotainment for decades it started after major companies realized that hard news usually effects their bottom line negatively. They bought up interest where they could and where they couldn’t they bully with advertising dollars. This has turned news into prepackaged dreck most people ignore.

What strange interesting way can you think of to advertise a mobile home for sale?

Question by Fred: What strange interesting way can you think of to advertise a mobile home for sale?
Bumper stickers, bill boards, t-shirts and ball caps, taxis and bus sides, board twirlers at stop lights, inflight magazines are all possible. Something strange enough to get picked up on a news cast or local magazine would be great.

Hi Fred,

The simple answer is, you sell benefits. Why is your mobile home the best reason to buy rather than anyone elses.

Benefits. Beautiful location, all mod cons, rent paid for you for one year. Clean, used by non smokers, no dogs. Nice garden around, Overlooks the sea.

Ok I’ve started you off. get the idea? Now you take it from here.

Best wishes.
Robert.

Ever notice that the world of advertising, tv, movies, news seems to think everyone has a white collar job?

Question by merdoc81: Ever notice that the world of advertising, tv, movies, news seems to think everyone has a white collar job?
Does anyone really appreciate people who bust their ass doing hard physical labor?
obviously unemployment is a great issue facing the US today, but it sickens me when I read the paper or see a story in the nightly news of some person with a high paying career job that has been drawing unemployment and cant find another job. the news makes it sound so bad for them, the only reason they dont have a job is because they think they are too good to get a job as a gas station attendant or work at walmart. I mean a job is better than no job and in this economy you have to take what you can get thats available.

yeah I Noticed that too. I think most people fall into the lower middle class. I mean a lot of people who have nice cars or a nice home can barely even pay for it and are in debt

Do you think that the cable news channels are an informative source of information or entertainment?

Question by Raging Moderate: Do you think that the cable news channels are an informative source of information or entertainment?
This question refers to the all of the talking heads. There is news, there are opinions and there are opinions dressed up as news. You need to understand that concept to understand the intent of this question. I think they exist for ratings (advertising dollars) and if they were not telling their audience what they want to hear, rather than striving for accuracy, their audience would not be there 24/7 and that would impact the price of their stock. This is where truth comes to die.
